My Happily Ever After Giveaway Hop Stop!

Welcome to my stop on the Happily Ever After Giveaway Hop! I want to thank I Am A Reader, Not A Writer & Murphy's Library for hosting the hop. Check out the Linky at the end of this post to visit all the other blogs participating in the hop!

I wasn't sure which book to giveaway for this hop. I really didn't want to go the traditional "fairy tale" route and giveaway an original fairy tale or even a re-telling. So, I tried thinking about what makes a book a fairy tale in my opinion. To me, a fairy tale is a book with a hero or heroine and therefore must have a villain. I also feel that a fairy tale should take place in a strange and beautiful land and have an angsty love story take place. Plus, the main character should have a challenge or struggle that they are trying to overcome.

Well the book that I am giving away meets all of these criteria, so it is a fairy tale to me! The book I am talking about is The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson! This is the second in Fire and Thorns series. I know there will be a third book coming in 2013! Therefore, if you don't get your happily ever after ending in The Crown of Embers, it may just come in book three called The Bitter Kingdom.

Overview:
In the sequel to the acclaimed The Girl of Fire and Thorns, a seventeen-year-old princess turned war queen faces sorcery, adventure, untold power, and romance as she fulfills her epic destiny.

Elisa is the hero of her country. She led her people to victory against a terrifying enemy, and now she is their queen. But she is only seventeen years old. Her rivals may have simply retreated, choosing stealth over battle. And no one within her court trusts her-except Hector, the commander of the royal guard, and her companions. As the country begins to crumble beneath her and her enemies emerge from the shadows, Elisa will take another journey. With a one-eyed warrior, a loyal friend, an enemy defector, and the man she is falling in love with, Elisa crosses the ocean in search of the perilous, uncharted, and mythical source of the Godstone's power. That is not all she finds. A breathtaking, romantic, and dangerous second volume in the Fire and Thorns trilogy.

Giveaway: One winner will receive a hardcover copy of The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson! This giveaway is U.S. only.

  3. I absolutely loved Girl of Fire and Thorns, which I just finished reading, so I am eager to get my hands on the next entry. The first was so complete, I'm a little worried about this next book-- it needs to have its own story, but I've heard good things about it. Thanks so much for hosting this giveaway!
