Desperation + Giveaway: Some Quiet Place by Kelsey Sutton

Welcome to my stop on the Some Quiet Place official blog tour hosted by Mod Podge Blog Tours!

Title: Some Quiet Place
Author: Kelsey Sutton
Publisher: Flux
Publication Date: July 8th 2013
Genre: Young Adult Fantasy/Paranormal

Blurb:
I can’t weep. I can’t fear. I’ve grown talented at pretending.

Elizabeth Caldwell doesn’t feel emotions . . . she sees them. Longing, Shame, and Courage materialize around her classmates. Fury and Resentment appear in her dysfunctional home. They’ve all given up on Elizabeth because she doesn’t succumb to their touch. All, that is, save one—Fear. He’s intrigued by her, as desperate to understand the accident that changed Elizabeth’s life as she is herself.

Elizabeth and Fear both sense that the key to her past is hidden in the dream paintings she hides in the family barn. But a shadowy menace has begun to stalk her, and try as she might, Elizabeth can barely avoid the brutality of her life long enough to uncover the truth about herself. When it matters most, will she be able to rely on Fear to save her?

***Desperation***

Name: Desperation

A Typical Summons: Suddenly Maggie doesn’t want any more jokes. Her mood swings in another direction—the doctors once said her medications would make this happen—and she makes a sound of impatience. “Forget all of this. I’m tired of talking about me. I’m sick of listening to the doctors and the nurses and my parents. Distract me, Liz. Give me all the dirty gossip from school. Or better yet, let’s blow this popsicle stand! You drove here—let’s go find a party!” Her eyes glitter, and Sorrow fades, swiftly replaced by Desperation. So many Emotions. It’s almost dizzying.

About the Author:
Kelsey Sutton has done everything from training dogs, making cheeseburgers, selling yellow page ads, and cleaning hotel rooms. Now she divides her time between her college classes and her writing, though she can also sometimes be found pounding out horrible renditions of Beethoven on the piano and trying bizarre drinks at her local coffee shop. Kelsey lives in northern Minnesota with her dog and cat, Lewis and Clark.

  3. What element or emotion would be summoned to me most often...hmmm? Probably embarrassment. I have way too many awkward moments.

  6. The emotion that I think would find itself summoned to me most often these days is boredom. I have hit a rut in books lately. Perhaps "Some Quiet Place" can break the cycle.

  7. The emotion that would find itself summoned to me would be love because I am a romantic fanatic, I love love lol, everything about love and I read books that have some type of love and romance in them or I don't bother.
