  1. i couldn't dog ear a page either books are too precious for me

thank you a lot for the giveaway

  2. I have this strange paranoia, to generate a bookmark on my Kindle every three or five pages (once it restarted and I had to search where I had left)

    ReplyDelete
  3. I can read anywhere - even standing in a crowded train, and I can get totally lost in it. I once was about to miss my stop because I was so engrossed I didn't realize it until the train was about to move.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I always read the ending before I actually read the book... really can't help it

  5. I entered your August New Release Giveaway.
It would be great to win a copy of
    Gated by Amy Christine Parker.
In response to your question of
What are some of your biggest reading quirks?
One of my biggest reading quirks is always
reading the ending before i finish the book
and not eating anything while i read so i don't get the book dirty.
Thank you for having this giveaway!!!!!!

  6. I have to sit on my bed, and it has to be completely quiet! I HATE creasing the spine of a book, or ruining the book in any kind of way.... it's a very annoying habit for my friends because whenever they borrow a book I have to give warnings "DO NOT CREASE THE SPINE OKAY OTHERWISE YOU'RE DEAD"

    ReplyDelete
  7. Haha I'm like Sam in that I'm very protective of them..don't hurt my babies!! I never do anything to the book, no creases, dog-ears, anything. I also check the page number every 3-5 pages to see where I am in the book..it's a pretty annoying habit. Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  8. I always seem to misplace my bookmarks, and I have a ridiculous amount of them!

    ReplyDelete
  9. My reading quirk is to not bend or fold the spine and I also enjoy reading while I'm lying down too. I can't leave marks on the pages. I use sticky notes as my bookmark so that I can doodle notes on them.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Always in bed, and everyone has to be absolutely quiet! Lol.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I have a few favorite places that I love to read: back porch, family room couch, in bed...I'm very careful with my books even those that came to me well worn are treated carefully. I don't set them down sprawled open or dog-ear a page. If anything, I'm too careful and actually cringe when I see others toss their books around or leave them laying around on the floor and stuff. ;D

    Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

  12. I can read anywhere, I read while walking, in the car when stopped at a red light, when I read a good book it takes alot for me to put it down.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I treat my personal books like library books. NEVER dog ear a page, write/highlight on pages, or bend/fold/crack a paperback's spine.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I too enjoy laying down, or at least reclining when reading :) Dog-earing pages makes me cringe. I've started keeping those little label tabs with me so I can tab a passage I like and want to revisit without having to dog-ear or mark up my book.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I hate dogearring as well. I have to be warm and comfy :) and it needs to be relatively quiet.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I definitely have to be comfortable, which of course usually consists of me laying in bed. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  17. I hate dogearring and I have to be in a quiet place to read in peace.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I have to have a bookmark b/c I hate dog earring pages and I try and not break the spine either :) Thanks for sharing!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I can't loan my books to other people, I just can't. If I want someone to read a book I've read I get them a copy of their own.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm super careful with my books. I like them to look brand new, so I don't bend them at all. But I do tend to eat and read. Sometimes, things get messy, lol.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I would NEVER dog-ear a book either. In fact, I try my hardest to keep my books looking completely unread - the bindings shouldn't have any creases!

  25. I have a lot of reading quirks. I have to be comfy...sitting risks legged or lying down, and it has to be relatively quiet or I can't read! Silence is best. :)

  26. My reading quirks is I have to read in a quiet place and it has to be an e-book I just love my kindle plus I leave in a small apt if I have all the books I want my apt will be fill up with lots of books thanks for the great giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I can't stand to crease the spine and I always use a bookmark. I will give a book away, but not loan them because I don't want to get them back looking ragged. I read every chance I get, if I have to wait even a few minutes, I'll read a book on my iPhone.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I never write on, highlight, or dog ear any book I'm reading! And anytime I'm letting someone borrow a book of mine, I explicitly tell them not to damage or dirty my book.

    thx u :)

  30. I like read in the bathroom for hours.
It just like my zen garden. Dunno why ;p

    ReplyDelete
  31. I don't have too many reading quirks...I can read anywhere, anytime, with any amounts of noise (have to...with kids!), & I loan my books out all the time. I do try to keep them in good condition by not breaking the spines and using bookmarks, but if a page got bent or the spine broke I wouldn't be too upset or anything. When it comes to books I'm borrowing from my friends, I am a little more strict, but that is only because they are not mine. Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I never dog-ear a page nor written anything (not even my name) in my book

    ReplyDelete
  33. Anyone who dogears one of my books receives a dirty look from me. I even cringe when I see people do it to their own books...

    ReplyDelete
  34. I like to sit up in bed if I'm reading a paperback and I can lie down if I'm reading on my phone or laptop. I also never dog ear pages.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Unless I'm definitely already "into" a book and can't put it down, I have to be curled up in bed or on the couch. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Just thinking of dog earring a book makes me feel a little sick. Just... No.

Also, once on a plane, I seen a lady with a paperback bend the left side all freaking way over, like a magazine or something.
I could never do something like that.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Haha we were just talking about that on teatime! A couple of my reading quirks...

    1. If there is a song in the book I will always, ALWAYS, sing it like a boy band would.
    2. If one of the characters is British I will picture him as Tom Hardy or Benedict Cumberbatch! Regardless of the description
    3. If there is a vampire I will picture him as Alexander Skarsgard. Again regardless of the description.
    4. If there is a strange word I will most likely just jumble it together, therefore just reading the letters as I skim the word.
    5. It annoys me when I don't have the books in the same format.
    6. I mostly read YA books in print format, It annoys me to read YA books as an Ebook, even if they are on sale! I don't mind reading romance novels in Ebook format!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Friends who borrow books from me get an earful of my reminders to not bend or crease the spine. I feel that books are more perfect with smooth spines. :D

    ReplyDelete
  39. I can't start reading a book that is part of a series unless I own the entire series. I wouldn't want to get addicted and then be caught without the next sequel! :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. I would say half the time I dog ear. I could be anywhere and read.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I never fold the pages of my books.
Also, I never write in my books.
I cannot stand when people do either of these things.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I read my book via my phone in everywhere even try to steal my work time at office :p

    ReplyDelete
  43. I love reading in bed the most, I can't stand people reading over my shoulder!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I have serious book OCD so I refuse to bend the spine or get any fingermarks on it or anything like that. I usually read with the book about one or two inches open and end up squinting to see what it says at the end of the line! hahha xD

    ReplyDelete
  45. If I'm reading a book around other people and I start to sense that it's getting to a really good/intense part, I have to stop reading and wait until I'm alone. I hate reading really great parts of books when there's a chance someone will interrupt me ;)

    ReplyDelete
  46. I read with the book narrowly opened. I sleep with the book beside me when I loved it. Thanks for the awesome giveaway! :D

    ReplyDelete
  47. Never crack the spine. Never dog-ear a page or fold in any way, even in the smallest way. Never stain it.

    ReplyDelete

  51. I never dog ear my books, and I hate when people do it! That's cruel! :D I love reading at night time, when all is quiet and peaceful. Also, I must have an enormous coffee mug right by my side. :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. i like to be on my own and move around a lot when i read

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  54. I don't really think I have too many quirks. I never dog-ear pages, either (but... is that really a quirk?)

    Brynna

    ReplyDelete
  55. I could never dog ear the page, it'd break my heart if I do so =(

    ReplyDelete
  56. One of my quirks, I hate when people get my book dirty lol but because I love to read all the time I don't mind if i get it dirty lol.

I once read a book in the bathtub and it got wet. I took it to get signed by the author, and he asked me if I read it in the tub. I was so embarrassed and he said it was okay it just meant I liked the story. :) That pretty much sums up my reading habit- I love to read anywhere!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'm always restless when I read. I can't find a comfortable position to read it.. I start lying on my back on the bed and I end up sitting cross-legged after rolling around a few times but I never let go of my book. I hate dog eared pages too. I love my books way to much to ruin them like that. I also don't like to share them because I'm afraid people wont be as careful as I am.
    Thanks for the great giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I don't open the book very much when I read because I like having them in good condition. I don't dog ear them either for that reason. My books look brand new! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!:D

    ReplyDelete
  59. My reading quirk... is quite the opposite of what the majority has! I enjoy dogearing pages where beautiful or important passages at, I also highlight inspiring sentences, and I'm not even afraid to bend my book spine. It's just that I love it when my books look/appear like they are read, and loved. I think it is a form of love anyway :)

Aside of highlighting I also write down quotes on a personal book note.

Thank you again, for the giveaway! Happy summer!

    ReplyDelete
  67. I have to be in my bed, to fully enjoy a book! :D
    (Ileana A.-rafflecopter)

    ReplyDelete
  68. I have to read books while eating chocolate! Not that it happens all the time though..

    ReplyDelete
  69. I have to read a series in order and read all that are available before starting another series. I also nit pick books.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I'm always moving when I read, I never sit still. I read the dialogue and then I have to go back and read the sentence before the quote, it's a bad habit that I have to quit also I read ahead in the paragraph and then I have to go back and read the paragraph again. I also skim the next page even if I'm not done with the page I'm on and I usually spoil things for myself. Okay these are all bad habits, thanks for the giveaway! :)

    ReplyDelete
  71. I have to finish a book, even if I am not loving it. I am super crazy about the condition of my books and I will stay up all night reading while my kids are sleeping

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I totally stay up all night reading to! Once I get my daughter to bed...it's on like Donkey Kong! LOL

      Delete
  72. My biggest quirk is when I lend my books to my sister or friends my books have to be returned to me in the condition they were in when I let them read them. My sister is like totally afraid to read my books. She always makes fun of me. I keep all of my books and it’s my collection. So I love to have my books in perfect condition.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I never dog-ear my pages and try to avoid any kind of damage to my books.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I can pretty much read anywhere, though I DO do most of my reading in bed :) I NEVER NEVER EVER dog-ear pages (ack!), and I get SO ANGRY when I find dog-eared pages in LIBRARY BOOKS!! Come on, people - it's called RESPECT! ;-) (seriously, I'm okay if people do it to their own books, but to LIBRARY books?? no way!) My biggest quirk - for which my husband pretty much constantly makes fun of me - is that I obsessively use tape flags while I read. It's a sickness. The alternative, when I'm reading on my Kindle, is pretty much CONSTANT highlighting. If there are no highlights in, say, a span of four pages, then it's a pretty good sign I'm not enjoying the book!

    ReplyDelete
  75. No marking my books (no dog ears, no hightlighting, notes, etc)! Also when I read, I like to have a drink (water bottle, juice, tea, soda, etc) within arms reach.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I read mostly at night because it's quite and silent at night time, no one interrupts!
I also like to have a tea or Coffee while reading :)

    ReplyDelete
  77. When I was a kid, my Dad told me to never lay a book down open because it hurt the book's spine and made the book cry. So now I can't even stand the sight of a book like that!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I'm kind of the same. I have to be in my room to read otherwise I don't fully concentrate. I hate broken spines, I know sometimes it's unavoidable but that's why I love books that have flexible covers
    Thanks for the giveaway!!!

  79. I can't read a book with the dust cover on it... I have to take it off until I'm finished!

    ReplyDelete
  80. One of my biggest quirks is that I have to use a bookmark...I have so many bookmarks! I never dogear the pages either. I love that I can bookmark on my Kindles. :)

    ReplyDelete
  81. I read a lot of books from the library, and then I'll buy some of the ones that I absolutely love. But it has to be in the same form that I first read it - like I have a paperback of Divergent and hardcover of Insurgent. It just wouldn't feel right to read it in any other way than the first time.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Yep, laying in bed and take off the dust cover for hardcover books are definitely my biggest quirks :))

    ReplyDelete
  83. I think: not opening my book all the way to prevent damage of the spine. I don't like them cracked.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I think my biggest quirk is that I always have to have a book at hand. Whenever I am not at my desk there is a book in my hand :)

    ReplyDelete
  85. The place must be quiet and I must not be disturbed! I always carry a book with me!

    ReplyDelete
  86. Making sure the spine and the corners of the books remain as uncreased as possible!

    ReplyDelete
  87. I never leave any kind of marks on my books. I hate the dog-eared pages or when someone doodles on the margins.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I have to save my page using a regular bookmark instead of just a piece of paper or a paper clip. Thanks for the giveaway

    ReplyDelete
  89. I have several. I do not dog ear. It bothers me so badly. I have to take the jacket off of hardcovers. I am never without a book, Kindle or otherwise. My worst quirk/habit is flipping to the end of a book when I am about halfway through. I try so hard not to, but it just happens. And sometimes it happens, and I don't even know I have done it yet again until I have already done some skimming.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I do almost all of my reading in the bath tub, which is why i prefer paper books :)

    ReplyDelete
  91. I never dog ear a book and I never eat anything when I'm reading because I don't want to get food on my book.

    ReplyDelete
  92. No puppy ears for me too. And in bed propped up by pillows under a blanket. No creases or cracked spines either.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I never bend the pages or break spine! Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  94. No dog ear pages for me! I also have to read the book first if they make a movie. I'm very picky who I loan books to.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I always have to finish a book when I started and can NEVER read a series out of order.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Lying in bed is where I do 90% of my reading.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I don't bent the pages and I never break the spines! Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  98. I like my books to be treated well.
I dislike so much profanity and sexual explicitness that ruins some really great stories.

    ReplyDelete
  99. If I start a series with a paperback, I need to continue that series with paperback editions. I hate switching mid-series. Also, I won't start a series until at least two books are released because I cannot stand to wait between each book.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I don't like my pages bent..

    ReplyDelete
  101. Reading the series in order. I can never get past that! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  102. I love to read with music in the background and I also never dog ear a page

    Thanks for the giveaway!!! :D

    ReplyDelete
  103. Can't stand bent pages.. drives me nuts! Thanks for giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  104. I like gathering snacks and beverages before lounging with a book so not even I can interrupt my reading. I always read lounging, in bed, the sofa, a recliner on the back patio. I always seem to miss place my bookmarks even when I have moved from the same spot. In a pinch I use almost anything near at hand hold my spot. Once I use my son's cell phone when I had to take care of something on the stove. I go a kick out of watching him look for it but it never occurred to him to look in the book.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I hate it when people talk to me when I'm reading, I'm just like "Hello! Can't you see how engrossed I am?! Must you bother me?!". And I also don't like stopping in the middle of a chapter, I have to finish it! And sometimes I read the end of the book before I actually get to it. Especially if I read a review and someones says a spoiler about it, or freaks out about it. Then I look for myself and I'm like "NOOOO! Why did I read that?! I just spoiled it!" But yeah, not good at all.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I try not to break the spine and use bookmarks. I would rather be lying in bed to read.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I sometimes read out loud to myself to full absorb every minute detail of the story. I am a hopeless skimmer when there is too much description. Sometimes reading out loud forces me to read the big batches of description and there is no fear of missing anything.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I read ALWAYS. So...I'm not picky about where or how it happens. I do move around quite a bit while I read though :)

    ReplyDelete
  109. I don't dog ear pages either. I can read just about anywhere, but my favorite place is either curled up in my recliner or on the corner of the couch.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Mine is definitely not dog earing pages. I hate that. Also I never break the spines of books :)

    ReplyDelete
  111. I can read anywhere and I always use a post-it to mark my place.
