"10 Random Things" + Giveaway: The Conspiracy of Us by Maggie Hall

Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for The Conspiracy of Us by Maggie Hall!
Today I have a "10 Random Things About Me" guest post from Maggie & a giveaway for a hardcover copy of her book!

The Conspiracy of Us
Author: Maggie Hall
Genre: Young Adult, Mystery, Thriller
Release Date: January 13, 2015
Publisher: Putnam Juvenile

A fast-paced international escapade, laced with adrenaline, glamour, and romance--perfect for fans of Ally Carter

Avery West's newfound family can shut down Prada when they want to shop in peace, and can just as easily order a bombing when they want to start a war. Part of a powerful and dangerous secret society called the Circle, they believe Avery is the key to an ancient prophecy. Some want to use her as a pawn. Some want her dead.
To unravel the mystery putting her life in danger, Avery must follow a trail of clues from the monuments of Paris to the back alleys of Istanbul with two boys who work for the Circle—beautiful, volatile Stellan and mysterious, magnetic Jack. But as the clues expose a stunning conspiracy that might plunge the world into World War 3, she discovers that both boys are hiding secrets of their own. Now she will have to choose not only between freedom and family--but between the boy who might help her save the world, and the one she's falling in love with.

***10 Random Things About Maggie Hall***

  1.  I have at least 50k words of cut material from CONSPIRACY.  (Including some slightly-more-than-PG-13-rated stuff I had to tone down.) ;)
  2. I spent a year from 2014-2015 traveling around the world with my husband. Some of the funniest/most interesting things we did: visit a Cat Cafe in Tokyo (where you pay an entrance fee to play with cats), go on a silent meditation retreat for 5 days in Thailand, march in the gay pride parade in Tel Aviv, get food poisoning for nearly a month straight in China. (Okay, that wasn’t so much funny…)
  3. I was in a sorority in college. (Kappa Alpha Theta!)
  4. I used to work at a bookstore as an events coordinator.
  5. Even though I travel a ton, I’m scared of flying.
  6. I love dressing up, and go all out for Halloween and Summerween (Halloween in the summer, which our friends have put on for years) every year. One of my favorite costumes was Vampire Harry and Hermione with my husband.
  7. I have never broken a bone. (knock on wood…)
  8. For years when I was little (age 2-8 or so) I refused to wear anything but dresses. I think I’m slowly reverting to that now…
  9. I was president of the band in high school. I played the flute. (I wasn’t very good.)
  10. I am always cold. I am wearing a coat and gloves inside my house as I type this. (Fingerless gloves ftw!)
